The Police Law Institute is an educational service provided to law enforcement and public safety employers and employees throughout the State of Michigan. The purpose of the Institute is twofold. First, the Institute is designed to provide police chiefs, public safety directors, and sheriffs with the knowledge necessary to properly implement policies and procedures for their law enforcement personnel to follow in the course of their duties. Second, the Institute provides legal training to law enforcement personnel so that both the law enforcement personnel and the entities that they work for are aware of pitfalls to avoid while performing their duties as police officers. As an Institute, we are committed to providing the necessary information so that municipalities and their law enforcement personnel can prevent and guard against legal liability.
The Police Law Institute offers a course list that changes as the relevant laws change and as case law evolves so that law enforcement entities and officers are offered the most up to date and critical information possible. Our courses are affordable and the Institute offers a number of different pricing options to accommodate any employer’s needs. The Institute’s general pricing guidelines are below. However, the Institute will work with employers to create a pricing plan and course series that best serves any employer’s needs.
