Lawsuits are inevitable, right? Wrong! Take this course to learn how to arm your department against allegations of workplace improprieties. This course covers best practices in conducting workplace investigations for allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other employee complaints. This course also discusses proper maintenance of employee personnel files, medical files and investigation files in compliance with Michigan’s Bullard Plawecki Right to Know Act. The course includes a critical discussion of drafting workplace policies regarding employee complaints and investigations as well as appointing a litigation coordinator, proper retention and maintenance of electronically stored documents and ensuring that documentation is properly maintained in the event that litigation takes place. This course also addresses preparation for responding to employee charges filed with the EEOC and Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
